Goji Berries

Goji Berries, also known as wolfberries, are a powerhouse fruit grown on vines in the protected valleys of inner Mongolia and Tibet. These distinctively flavoured red berries are an excellent antioxidant making it an ideal natural whole food for reversing aging and protecting against disease.

Goji berries are a nutrient-dense superfood that contain many health promoting factors, including:

  • superb source of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E and contain a full complement of protein with 18 amino acids and 21 trace minerals.

  • High source of Vit C, having 500 times more vitamin C per ounce than oranges and actually more than any other fruit.

  • Six essential Fatty Acids (EFAs).

  • Rich in antioxidants, which have been found to help prevent cancer

  • Contains compounds that are naturally anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial

Goji berries are rich in various phytochemicals. It contains an abundance of carotenoids that scavenge free radicals in order to keep our liver, blood, and cardiovascular system clean and free of inflammatory toxins. No food on earth matches the ORAC (anti-oxidant) value of goji berries. They are also known as a beauty food in China and Asia, and eating an ounce or two a day can keep your skin silky smooth and clear as porcelain. Goji berries are rich in phospholipids, the main lipid component of all cell membranes.

Goji berries are a very versatile food and can be used in a variety of ways, including the following:

• Cereal • Trail mix • Salads • Smoothies • Tea • Baking (it has been proven that cooking does not destroy the antioxidant activity)

Simple Goji Trail Mix

Mix up combinations of Tibetan Goji Berries with sunflower seeds, flax seeds, pecans, a small amount of pine nuts, walnut pieces, dried blueberries, apples slices, and a small amount of coconut shreds.
